Craft a Sun Stone

Craft a Sun Stone

Today on the blog our sweet friend Laura, @cosy.waldorf.fam, has created this craft for us. The Sun Stones is a very easy handwork project, also suitable for little children. It offers a wonderful sensory experiences but also the stone itself has great value, once felted. It is a reminder that the sun is always there, even on cloudy days. So keep it in your pocket and when you’re feeling sad, hold it in your hands for a while, look at the soft yellow wool and feel its warmth while you’re thinking of the sun shining inside of you.

Step 3:

Make your hands soapy, dip the wrapped stone into the very warm water and start to roll it softly in your hands. Once the stone in your hands gets cold, dip inside the warm water again.

Step 4:

Repeat this process until your stone is firm. After 10 minutes you can add a little bit more pressure while rolling in your hands. (You might have to change the water throughout the craft to make sure it is really always very warm).
